Kathy VanOordt RN, CMT
Kathy VanOordt,RN, CMT is a lifelong resident of West Michigan who knew as a young girl that she would one day become a nurse. After graduating from Blodgett Memorial Hospital’s nursing program in 1970, Kathy went to work in a hospital setting although she soon learned that the clinical hospital environment wasn’t her best personal and professional fit. Later, after her youngest child was nine years old, Kathy would spend 10 years working as a nurse in a rehabilitation specialist’s office, where she became keenly interested in holistic health care and massage therapy.
In 1992, Kathy completed a 1000 hour massage therapy program at the Health Enrichment Center. Her education there also included reflexology, polarity, cranial sacral, infant and prenatal massage. Kathy’s practice continues to be enhanced by further study. She became a Reiki Master in 1993 and used it in her practice for a year before beginning to teach it. Now, in addition to her comprehensive relaxation massage, Kathy offers Reiki sessions and hot stone massage.
